Drinking Skeptically is an informal social event designed to promote fellowship and networking among Humanists who work or are somehow conntected to the health care arena (to include home health care, care givers, mental health care, administrative and logistical support staff, emergency medical service workers, and more). It provides an opportunity for Humanists to talk, share ideas (and yes, drink) in a casual, relaxed virtual atmosphere. We follow a free flow of conversation model, in a gently moderated discussion. Sometimes members arrive with a passion to discuss a news event, or a religious earthquake that just rocked our nation or community. We start there and let the conversation direct itself. We do insist on respect for other members, not necessarily their opinions. And their right to speak their mind. We'll try to get a new-comer to talk as much as they will. We all love new stories. But we ask that people yield the flow when they run out of material and notice others engaging in side conversations. Don’t drink? Don’t let that stop you from joining us! Remember that drinking skeptically means drinking responsibly. If there’s one thing science has taught us, it’s the effects of alcohol on the human body!!
